Grey
colour sometimes signifies colourless, faceless and uninterested. It is very
interesting though how we judge things in only black and white. Where is the
colour grey my friend?
Andy is smart and hardworking.
He is working in an MNC for last 5 years. In his tenure, he has seen three
bosses. He didn't develop good rapport with any of them. One of his boss,
pushed him hard and always used to assign challenging tasks. Andy ponders why
my boss is allocating his share of work without realizing the fact that his
boss wants him to develop new skills. His boss sees Andy as a future leader. It
is here Andy should have developed another perspective and notice the grey
side.
Abhijeet and Abhik are good
friends. Abhijeet always asks Abhik to come and party with him over the
weekend. Abhik hardly obliges as he is not financially well off. Rohan
considers him to be a miser. Alas, had Rohan seen a different outlook (grey) he
would have understood situation better.
The guy whom you labelled rude is actually undergoing through a broken
marriage. The woman whom you tagged workaholic is the sole bread earner of her
family. The boss you considered arrogant is having his own set of problems and
undergoing mid managerial level crisis. Judging is pretty easy but understanding
other's situation is difficult. I, too have judged things in black and white. I
regretted it later.
So, my dear friends lets develop a new perspective and stop dissecting
things only in chalk and cheese. Let’s try to witness grey areas. After all
life is not binary and lets be a visionary by observing the grey.
